Paris 2024: Team USA Para-Taekwondo Athlete Ariana Paolo Aguila-Ramos First to Fight for U.S.

PARIS, FRANCE (August 29, 2024) - The Paralympics kicked off today, also marking the first day of Para Taekwondo matches.


Team USA Para Taekwondo athlete Ariana Paolo Aguila-Ramos was defeated by Ana Japaridze of Georgia by a score of 22-2 in the round of 16 for the women’s K44 52kg class. Japairdze received two Gam-jeom penalties, resulting in the USA receiving one point per penalty.

Aquila-Ramos’ journey at Paris 2024 has come to a close. However, her spirit and determination have left a lasting impact on the fans and fellow athletes.
