USA Taekwondo Named MNA of the Year at World Taekwondo Gala
[Charlotte, NC, December 4, 2024] – USA Taekwondo (USATKD) is proud to announce that it has been named MNA (Member National Association) of the Year at the prestigious World Taekwondo Gala, held in Hong Kong, China last night.
This accolade is the latest in a string of recent honors recognizing the organization's transformative efforts and achievements.
The award caps an extraordinary year for USA Taekwondo, which began with winning the Best MNA Award from the Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) and continued with key milestones including recertification by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and receiving the Best MNA in Governance Award from World Taekwondo earlier this year.
"This honor is the culmination of an incredible year for the USA Taekwondo NGB," said CEO Steve McNally. "It started with our recognition in the Pan Am region, followed by the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and then earning the Best in Governance Award from World Taekwondo – those were all great moments for us as an organization. Now, being named overall MNA of the Year by World Taekwondo is truly humbling and a crowning achievement for the NGB.”
“It is a testament to the incredible hard work of our staff, athletes, coaches, Board and community, and we are so proud to be recognized as the best taekwondo organization in the world. We’ve already come a long way, but this achievement motivates us to keep striving for excellence and growing the sport of taekwondo in the United States."
The recognition celebrates USA Taekwondo’s commitment to athlete success, transparent governance, and innovative initiatives that have positioned the organization as a global leader in the sport. USATKD continues to prioritize excellence on and off the mat, empowering athletes to achieve at the highest levels while setting the standard for organizational governance.
“These awards are validation of the direction we have taken, and the work we have done to make athletes safe and successful,” McNally continued. “USATKD is now an organization that its members, and the wider Olympic family, can be rightly proud of. Let’s keep pushing forward – with LA on the horizon, even better days are ahead if we all work together,” McNally continued.
USA Taekwondo expresses its gratitude to World Taekwondo, its members, and the entire taekwondo community for their ongoing support and recognition.
