Selection for World Taekwondo Olympic Weight Category for 2024

At the start of each year, the World Taekwondo Olympic Weight Category selection window opens.

To select and declare a World Taekwondo Olympic Weight Category, United States Senior athletes and athletes turning 17 years old in 2024 must send an email to the USATKD High Performance Department. Emails should be sent to Eric Wininger at ewininger@usatkd.org by 5 p.m. EST, Monday, January 22, 2024. Please include your name, GAL number, and the Olympic Weight Category you would like to declare in your email.

The weight category selected will be where World Taekwondo Olympic Weight Division points earned are allocated. US Athletes, who turn 17 years of age in 2024 or older must declare a World Taekwondo Olympic Weight division. Any eligible junior points earned will be delegated to the World Taekwondo Olympic Weight division declared.

Please note if an athlete already has an Olympic Weight Category selected and no change is required you do not have to provide the selection again as previously selected Olympic Weight Categories are retained till a change is declared.
